So, pack your bags and get ready to explore the hidden gems that await you in and around Field Head Farm Cottage.

Here is our top 5 things to do whilst at the cottage:

1. Oakwell Hall and Country Park

A stay at Field Head Farm Cottage wouldn’t be complete without exploring Oakwell Hall and Country Park. This beautiful park is only a walk over the field behind the cottage. This beautifully preserved Elizabethan manor house offers a glimpse into 16th-century life, surrounded by 100 acres of lush parkland. The gardens, woodland trails, and period furnishings make it a perfect spot for history buffs and nature lovers alike.

Likewise, this AirBnb is the perfect stay for any families/guests attending a wedding at Oakwell Hall. This is a popular location for a beautiful Yorkshire wedding and is used as a venue many times a year.

2. York

York is a historic city with so many attractions. Its well-preserved medieval walls, the magnificent York Minster, and the quaint Shambles make it a must-visit. Don’t miss the Jorvik Viking Centre to dive into the city’s Viking past. If those aren’t your vibe, dive into the incredible food and drink scene. With a variety of different restaurants and bars, there is something for everyone.

York is just under an hours drive from Field Head Farm Cottage.

3. Yorkshire Dales National Park

The Yorkshire Dales National Park is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts. With its rolling hills, picturesque villages, and dramatic landscapes, it’s perfect for hiking, cycling, and exploring natural beauty. Our favourite places include Malham Cove (A must for Harry Potter fans), Aysgarth Falls, and the charming village of Grassington.

The Yorkshire Dales is over an hour from the Cottage and is more of a day out kind of destination. It really is a must visit!

4. Whitby

Whitby is a coastal town famous for its association with Bram Stoker’s Dracula and its stunning Abbey ruins. Whitby’s narrow streets, sandy beaches, and delicious seafood make it a delightful destination. Don’t forget to try the local fish and chips! There is lots of fish and chip restaurants on the beach front, we recommend the award winning Trenches! This spot sees thousands of visitors every year.

5. Haworth

This quirky town is perfect for the literature lovers who will appreciate a visit to Haworth, the home of the Brontë sisters. The Brontë Parsonage Museum offers a fascinating glimpse into their lives and works. The village itself is picturesque, with cobbled streets and traditional shops. They have so many quirky shops from the traditional sweet shop to the Cabinet Of Curiosities shop.

These are 5 of our favourite places but it is hard to narrow it down to 5 as there is so much to see and do!
