The Barcelo Active Resort is located in Costa Teguise, Lanzarote. This is the perfect resort for those who are wanting to get a bit of sun, relax, indulge but also keep up with their fitness at the same time. It really was the best place to recharge.

Booking & Check in Process: The booking process was really easy and straight forward. When deciding on which rooms and board you want, it Is clear on what you will get with each. We went with the standard room with all inclusive board. However we got upgraded to the ocean view room due to our travel blog and we would say to go with this room option as these rooms are in the newer side the hotel at the front (basically where all the pictures are taken).
Check in was easy and quick when you get to the hotel. We especially loved that you got a coloured band the wear on your arm which was your room key and board. This made it convenient as you didn’t have to remember the room key as you’re wearing it. Our band colour was red for All Inclusive. Green bands were Half Board and white were All Inclusive+.
Rooms: The rooms were clean, spacious and had a modern interior that resonated with Lanzarote. Each room has a double bed which is more like a king size bed and very comfy! The bathrooms are spacious with double sinks and spare tooth brushes and razors incase you forget. Unlike other hotels, the wardrobes had lots of hangers and draw space to put all your clothes.

Hotel Facilities: This hotel/resort had everything you could ever need. There were multiple buffet restaurants, Al Carte restaurants (Koi, Champs and La Dolce Vita), 9 outdoor pools including an Olympic pool, gym, spa, mini golf and more.
It was a bit unclear on which facilities were included in the ‘All Inclusive’, these facilities were not included and had a fee if you wanted to use them: Al Carte Restaurants, Mini-Golf, Olympic Pool, Spa. However, we did try Koi and the food was incredible! We also got 20% off for being hotel guests. The mini golf was fun too, we had the whole place to ourselves and it was worth the £15.

Service: The staff were all lovely and would go above and beyond to help you.
The buffet was great with a large selection of different cuisines to choose from on an evening. Breakfast always had a large selection too and with it being an ‘active’ resort, you could tell most of the food was healthier and not cooked in loads of oil.
If you wanted room service you could get this throughout the day but this was an extra fee.
Rooms were cleaned everyday if you wanted and the cleaners would leave the rooms looking spotless.

Location: The location was perfect as it was just outside of Costa Teguise so you didn’t get any loud noises from the town. It was only a 20 minute walk into the town so was still close enough for you to go and explore.
If you didn’t want to walk there was a great bus service that run all day. If you hopped on to bus 3 this took you into Costa Teguise and only costed around 1,80 euros each.

Value for Money: It cost us around £1500 for a week, all inclusive for 2 people. We thought this was a reasonable price as this included flights and transfer from the airport. There is an upgraded service called “Royal Level” at the resort however we thought that this was not worth the money as all you got was a separate buffet and private pool area but this was much smaller.
Unique Features: We thought it was pretty unique that the resort had an olympic pool and a good quality gym. From our research we found that a lot of sports teams come to hotels like this as it gives them a break but they still train whilst there.
Overall Impression and Recommendation: Our overall impression of the hotel was great! It was everything we wanted from the week away. We would need to mention to pack extra sun cream and aftersun! We are normally fine in the sun but when it does come out here it is HOT. We ended up burning so you will for sure get a tan.
It is the perfect resort for couples and families with an active lifestyle.
