Escape the London Hustle and Discover the Magic of The Cotswolds.

You might be craving a break from the fast pace of London. In that case, let me introduce you to a little slice of heaven: The Cotswolds. Just a short drive away, this idyllic region is home to rolling green hills. It features honey-hued cottages and charming villages. These villages feel like they’ve been plucked from the pages of a fairytale.

We recently returned from a dreamy getaway to the North Cotswolds. I couldn’t wait to share our experience with you. Here’s why you should visit this stunning area—especially during the quieter months of the year.

Why Visit The Cotswolds in Winter?

The Cotswolds is one of the most iconic and beloved regions of England, attracting visitors from all over the world. But here’s the insider tip: January to March is the perfect time to visit.

During these off-season months, you’ll discover a peaceful side of The Cotswolds:

  • Crowd-Free Villages: Wander through picturesque villages like Broadway or Stow-on-the-Wold at your own pace—no weaving through throngs of tourists.
  • Easier Parking: Small, charming villages often mean limited parking, which can be a challenge in summer. In winter, you’ll have far less trouble finding a spot.
  • Serene Countryside: The frost-tipped hills and cozy charm of winter add a magical touch to your visit.

However, a quick heads-up: if you’re planning to visit Diddly Squat Farm, note that it’s closed during January to March. But don’t worry—you can still find their products in select pubs and shops, including the quirky Man Cave (more on that later!).

Where We Stayed:

Wake up in the luxurious, architect-designed lodge at Feldon Valley Lodges, where elegance meets nature. Surrounded by serene woodlands and world-class amenities, Feldon Valley doesn’t just meet your expectations- it redefines them.

Whether you seek a romantic escape or a tranquil family retreat, Feldon Valley offers the perfect blend. It combines comfort, style, and the magic of the Cotswolds. Why settle when you can stay extraordinary?

What we loved most about Feldon Valley Lodges, is their attention to detail. We had a great personal experience. When we arrived in the suite, they upgraded us. We found a personalised letter with our names on it. It provided us all the information we needed. As well as the staff being incredible! Always there to help.

(We will be doing a separate post on Feldon Valley so subscribe so you do not miss it! Please note that this was a personal stay that I got Troy for Christmas. Feldon Valley did not know that we are travel bloggers. So the upgrade was through the kindness of themselves.)

Our Cotswolds Itinerary

1. Chipping Campden

We started our adventure with a drive through Chipping Campden, a village straight out of a storybook. While we didn’t stop this time (parking was a challenge), the golden stone cottages and historic charm left us awestruck. Next time, it’s top of our list for a proper wander!

2. Broadway

Our next stop was Broadway, and let me just say—it was our favorite village of the trip.

  • Don’t Miss: The Broadway Tower, a charming folly with incredible views, and the Broadway Museum.
  • Shopping & Cafés: The main street is lined with boutique shops, cozy cafés, and inviting restaurants.
  • Quirky Find: Be sure to pop into the Man Cave. It is a vintage-style shop filled with treasures. These treasures will transport you back in time.

3. Stow-on-the-Wold

This historic market town is another must-visit. Stow-on-the-Wold boasts:

  • The Oldest Inn in England: Step back in time at this legendary pub.
  • Unique Treats: We had the best white hot chocolate here—warm, creamy, and absolutely divine.
  • Plenty to Explore: From independent boutiques to antique shops, it’s the perfect place to lose track of time.

4. Daylesford Organic

Our final stop was the renowned Daylesford Organic, and it didn’t disappoint. This sprawling estate features:

  • farm shop stocked with gourmet goodies (though small and a bit pricey).
  • Homeware Heaven: Stunning interior and home products that scream “country chic.”
  • Two restaurants, a garden center, and more.

It’s on the luxurious side. It’s an unforgettable experience for those who love food. It appeals to those who appreciate interiors and a touch of indulgence.
